This is a four-year, full-time undergraduate degree program designed to prepare students for careers as secondary school teachers of Home Economics and Irish. Graduates will be qualified to teach both subjects up to the highest level (Leaving Certificate).
he Home Economics curriculum emphasizes promoting healthy lifestyles and well-being for individuals, families, and communities through sustainable practices.
In the fourth year, students can choose to specialize in a specific area of Home Economics, such as Food Studies, Textiles, Fashion Design, or Family Resource Management.
Develop fluency and teaching skills in the Irish language alongside Home Economics expertise.

EU Tuition: may be paid by the Irish Government if you qualify for the Free Fees Initiative. All students need to pay a Student Contribution €3,000.Student Contribution may be aided by the Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI) grant. Students must satisfy the Garda/police vetting requirements. Application deadline for EU students is February 1.
Admissions Requirements
High School Diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.0 plus: SAT score of 1000+ (1800 prior to 2016) or ACT composite score of 22 and above or 2-3 Advanced Placement Examinations in relevant subjects with grades 3 and above OR 2-3 SAT subject tests in relevant subjects with a minimum score of 600 in each.
