Profile
MICE stands for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions. The sector is one of the fastest growing in the global tourism industry. Its turnover is over $ 1 billion and is expected to reach $ 2 billion by the end of the decade. The sector is booming due to the adoption of incentives by many companies as a reward for their employees for their performance, the increase in per capita income, especially in developing economies, and the dynamics of reports on the development of world trade. The MICE sector includes other organized events, which aim to attract tourist flows, such as festivals, concerts, celebrations and cultural events. The MICE industry has a positive impact on the development of businesses, cities, and wider areas. MICE event organization includes, in addition to travel, many other creative services, such as landscaping, decoration and signage, exhibition stands, event marketing, sponsorship management, photography and videography, staffing, catering, security and management services.
The MICE Management program analyzes every aspect of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions: planning, budgeting, organizing, managing contacts with regulators, customer and supplier relationships, reporting and feedback. At the same time, it examined the “big picture” and provided students with the theoretical and practical tools to understand the operation of the tourism industry, holistically, and to explore its relationship with the MICE sector.
Graduates of the program, having built a solid academic background and developed professional skills, including the use of information technology, can pursue careers in the “industry” MICE in Greece and abroad.
