Why should I study here?

With more than 9,000 employees and an annual budget of about EUR 785 million, KIT is one of the biggest research and education institutions worldwide and has the potential of reaching a top position in selected research areas on an international level. What are the admissions criteria?

Germany has changed their admissions requirements again, starting for the 2021-22 school year, and now accepts AP scores!  Students who want to apply to programs related to Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, and Economics need scores of 3+ in English. A foreign language that needs to be French, Spanish, Latin or German, Math or natural science which can be Calc, Bio, Chem, or both Physics C tests. In addition, I score in European History, American History, Computer Science, or Macro+Micro Economics. 

Students who want to apply for programs centered around Math, Science, and Technology need scores of 3+ in Math (specifically Calculus). Natural Science (Bio, Chem, or both Physics C tests). Language (French, Latin, German, Spanish, or English Lit or Lang/Comp). Addition score in European History, American History, Computer Science, or Macro+Micro Economics. 

Alternately, students with an IB diploma, an associate's degree, and 2 years of college credits (including specified courses) are also admissible

What is student life like?

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology is distributed over several locations. While the campus north is situated in the administrative district of Karlsruhe near Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen, the campus south is about 10 km away in the heart of the city of Karlsruhe. Moreover, there are further locations in the city of Karlsruhe, as well as in the city of Dresden, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and Ulm. Before you plan to visit us, please make sure to get informed about how to reach the location you are looking for. The walk-in center for fitness, health, and diagnostics at the Institute of Sports and Sports Science is really a health-oriented gym. The opportunities include individual strength and endurance training on state-of-the-art fitness equipment under expert guidance, an extensive range of courses, comprehensive in-depth diagnostics, and the use of the sauna and swimming pool.
