TIO University of Applied Sciences
Description
Welcome to Tio, a University of applied sciences where you will feel right at home. Tio offers a great atmosphere, the option of accelerated studying, and the unique Tio concept. Students love Tio’s small-scale and personal education. All of Tio’s bachelor’s degrees and vocational training programs have been elected as the best in their respective fields by the Higher Education Guide and the Vocational Training Guide (Keuzegids Hbo en Mbo). “In the first place, there is the private Tio University of Applied Sciences, which has locations in five cities. “Students are very positive about this school,” says the Higher Education Guide.
Student Life
Tio has five campuses spread across the Netherlands and a head office in Utrecht. Students can benefit from both the small-scale nature and personal approach of each of the campuses and the effectiveness and network of a national organization. It is possible to play tennis, football, swim, do aerobics, do fitness or participate in some other sports and/or activities in Amsterdam and Utrecht. For more information ask your fellow students or your main contact persons at the Tio campus what the best sports location are for you.
Housing
Campus accommodation is not common in the Netherlands. Most students rent a room in a student house. If you need help finding a place to live, Tio will assist you. Students requiring a student visa will automatically be offered housing via Tio. Since there is a high demand for student accommodation, we recommend starting your search as soon as possible and, where possible, letting Tio help you. Average accommodation prices for student housing in the Netherlands vary between €450 and €800 a month.

Notes
The Universities of Applied Sciences are quite reputable in the Netherlands and provide a way for students without the IB/AP requirements held by the Universities to study in this very cool country. That said, students should be aware of extra requirements that may be necessary when applying for graduate school. Read more here.
