Profile
Sports instructor training within the degree in sports and leisure management consists of courses of study that advance sports and physical exercise competence, human well-being and health promoting exercise competence, pedagogical and physical education didactical competence, sports and exercise social, leadership and entrepreneurial competence, and activity tourism competence.
Your professional studies will include, for example, interaction skills, communication, anatomy and physiology, motor development in humans, nutrition, physical education, and health-promoting exercise. The studies also include different sports from aqua sports to spinning.
The specialized studies of the degree are activity tourism and personal training. Sports instructor training within the degree in sports and leisure management also includes practical training worth 30 credits. Students accomplish their practical training in various sports and exercise environments in Finland and abroad.
Practical training can also be accomplished in the university of applied sciences’ own training environment, which offers exercise services to different customer groups. The syllabus of the sports instruction degree is looking to the future and competence development. The syllabus is driven by development needs and changes occurring in working life as well as the requirements of international cooperation.
