Utrecht University is a public research university located in Utrecht, Netherlands. It was founded in 1636 and is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the Netherlands. Utrecht University is ranked among the top 100 universities in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and the QS World University Rankings.

Student Life
For 125 euros per year, students can join the Olympus Sports Centre. Though not part of the university, 85% of the members are students. The offer fitness facilities, tennis courts, squash courts, climbing wall, and beach field for volleyball. Classes include various toning options, pilates, pole fitness, pilotxing, tae kwon do, spinning, zumba, yoga, and more. They also offer a number of sports clubs and leagues.The Cultural Centre Parnassos offers classes in the arts, theater, music and such. They also are home to ESN Utrecht and other international groups. There are many student associations on campus that include those focusing on Model UN, career, religion, sports, social, LGBT, and social. There are also specific groups for international groups including a “buddy to go" program that pairs international students with a local student to help with acclimation.
Dining
There are several canteens for lunch in the different university building along with two choices for dinner.
Housing
The university reserves a number of accommodations for first year international students. These are not guaranteed, but placements is likely if you apply in a timely manner (first come-first serve). Rooms range from singles with shared facilities to rooms with private facilities and range from 350-690 euros per month.
